Flybe’s successful launch of travel trade website

Flybe successfully launched its travel agents’ booking site (TABS) at the beginning of April this year. The site offers fares at a lower level than through the Global Distribution Systems (GDS) and since its launch 75% of all Travel Agents who have been offered TABS so far have registered.

TABS provides agents with access to all flybe operated routes, providing quick and easy online purchasing for their clients and generates management data identifying all transactions made with the airline. TABS focuses on providing the lowest fare available on any distribution channel together with an agent discount for purchasing online. Passengers will be issued with a receipt for presentation at the relevant flybe ticket or check-in desk, where it will be exchanged for a boarding pass.

“We are delighted about the launch of TABS, its success over the past month highlights the many benefits of the site, such as agent incentive, competitive fares and convenience,” said Marshall Barrand, flybe’s Sales Director. “This is a major development in our relationship with the travel trade and one which ensures we can continue to offer the lowest fares to our mutual customer, guaranteeing that we remain competitive in the market place.”

Future projects for TABS include the introduction of corporate pages. In the longer term, flybe is looking at further enhancements, which will be announced in due course.

Flybe is Europe’s leading regional airline and was relaunched last year with a commitment to providing permanently low fares, more choice, the best in customer service and the most punctual flights in the markets it serves. Many of the changes were instigated by the evolution of the aviation industry where the prime determinants for air travel are now price and convenience.

Flybe has principal operating bases at Birmingham, Southampton, Belfast City and the Channel Islands. More than three million passengers will travel with flybe this year.
